First night

So its my first night in my new micro home. My first night sleeping in a shed lol. I decided to hang up tapestries and flags on the walls, to give it a more homey touch. I decided to get rid of most of my stuff...I kept my bed, a smale bookshelf, three small drawers, a couple guitars, and a laundry hamper. After a long day of moving and setting up the new nest, Im ready to lay down and go to sleep. Its a little weird and unfamiliar. as Im making up the bed and getting ready, the light goes out! all of a sudden Im standing in complete darkness haha. What a time for a light bulb to go out...Damn planned obsolescence. Lucky for me I have the light of my laptop, or else I fear the boogie man and shadow people would consume my thoughts, on my first night in a new place.
So Im heading to bed now... Tomorrow Ill work in the garden before going to farmers market.
Oh yea and dont let me forget to trim those branches that are scratching the side of the shed in the wind :P

The Plan

Well, here it goes.
So my name is Jon and I am a co-creator of the Chico Eco-Village. What is Chico Eco-Village you might ask. It is a sustainability based community that we are creating here in Chico, CA.
Check out our Facebook page to get involved, track our progress, and see what we are about.

I have been wanting to start a eco community for about 5 years now, and I'm glad to finally be part of it. But I feel like I need a transition stage in between the norm of living to the community based eco living. That's when I decided to move into a shed. I have been downsizing my my belongings and am ready to move into a micro home less than 100 sq ft. CRAZY right?!?!

Im just one single guy, how much more space would I need? I am ready to take this dive into simple living. In doing this I hope to achieve a better understanding of my energy and water use, my impact on the environment, and most of all a better understanding of myself.

My goal is to blog the whole experience, with lots of stories and lots of pics/videos to come. this is my first real blog so it bound to be a joyful learning experience. I am excited about my journey, and excited for you to come along.

Love and Light
-Jon
